Mrs. Suzette Gillette, 59, passed away with loving family by her side Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the St. Luke’s Campus of MVHS. Suzette was born in Oneida, NY, November 28, 1962, a daughter of the late Eric Francis and Nancy Charlotte McCauley. She was formerly married to Michael Gillette and shared twenty-seven loving years with Earl Clark Sr.. A very loving mother and grandmother, Suzette’s family... “Mitzi” Giehl, 89, passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Monday, November 28, 2022, at The St. Luke’s Home.

Her career expanded to designing hotels in Taiwan, Japan and several European countries. She graduated from Hermon-DeKalb School in 1967, Watertown School of Commerce in 1969. Elaine spent many weekends in Syracuse while attending Maria Regina College for Medical Records while working full time. Contributions in her memory may be made to Gouverneur Rescue Squad, The Village of Gouverneur Recreation Center, or St Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Sally married Ronald Canell, her high school sweetheart on March 2, 1957 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Gouverneur.

Sally lived her entire life in the home in which she was born and grew up, married, and raised her family. Sally Canell, 85, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, December 11, 2022. Flossie is predeceased by her husband, Thomas, a brother, Frederick McCullouch, a sister, Esther Petrie, a niece Charlotte McConnell and a great grandson, Ryker Chase Wood. Flossie was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for neighborhood children, loved to knit, make quilts, do ceramics, leather work, make wedding cakes and was a Girl Scout leader for years. Miguel Angel Rivera, 51, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, October 23, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

The family of Cheryl would like to thank Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Critical Care Unit and especially Nurse John for the care and compassion received. Jesse was born on October 10, 1986 in Gouverneur to Eugene “Geno” Boclair and the late Melissa Soto. He attended St. James School in Gouverneur and then graduated from High school in Louisiana. Jesse L. Boclair, age 36, of Scott, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly on November 13, 2022.

Terry most enjoyed spending time with his family on many camping trips, vacations and attending as many of the grandkids’ activities as possible. He was their biggest cheerleader and so proud of them all. A major difference in opinion with the superintendent caused him to resign in protest in 1983.

Florence was born on January 8, 1928 in Gouverneur, NY to the late Harry and Florence McCullouch. She married Thomas W. Brayton on August 25, 1946 at the church in Fine, NY. Tom passed away on October 6, 2019. “Flossie” Brayton, age 94, of Edwards, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Legacy K, to be with her husband, Tom, of 73 years. Vera married Harry N Nordberg, Jr on April 14, 1956 and was married for 66 years. They retired to Gouverneur, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her many sisters and brothers. The second of Glenn and Helen Bartholomew Lehigh's three children, George was born in Watertown, NY on December 29, 1927, and raised in Gouverneur, a dairy-farming river community in northern New York. When he was older he sold snow shoveling contracts for $5 a season, and worked as a farmhand on the Overackers Farm during the summer and at Mr. Toon's shoe repair shop during the school year. As a high schooler, he was on the payroll at Kinney's Drug Store.
Arrangements are with French Funeral Home in Gouverneur, NY. Calling hours will be Thursday November 3rd from 4-7pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday November 4th at 11am. A marriage to Jean Ann Bowman on July 6, 1974 ended in divorce, but they had four children during their time together. There will be a get-together to remember and celebrate George in Eastport next spring. The George Lehigh Memorial Scholarship will support Shead students pursuing teaching or environmental studies in hopes that they, too, can contribute to the way of life that George found so meaningful in small towns. Iris was born on April 13, 1939 in Pierrepont to the late Herbert and Doris Law. She attended schools in Antwerp, DeGrasse, Russell, and Gouverneur. Iris married Henry E. Waugh on July 6, 1957 at his parent’s home in Hermon.
Dr. Louis Angelini, 87, passed away, peacefully at his home, with loving family by his side, Sunday, December 4, 2022. Born in Utica, June 13, 1935, Louis was a son of the late Luigi and Concetta Angelini. He was educated in local schools, graduating from TR Proctor High School, where he excelled in academics, music, and football.

Vera was born October 10, 1933 in Spragueville, NY , a daughter of Richard Benjamin and Cora Belle Alberry, She graduated from Antwerp High School. She was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1955.
